It is going to be a great week! Started my day with a four mile jog and followed that with my must have green juice.
About ten years ago, right before I turned fifty, I had my first colonoscopy. To my surprise the doctor found five clusters of polyps and said I was to return for follow up colonoscopies every year for the next five years. I always thought I had a healthy diet yet, the tests results indicated I still needed to make some changes.
A friend of mine told me about green juice and I have been drinking it every morning since. The following year when I went for my followup colonoscopy, the doctor was amazed when he saw how healthy my colon looked and asked what I had done differently. I told him, “Green juice” and he laughed at me. That was the last time I saw that doctor and yes, I continue drinking my green juice with my new doctor’s approval and all continues to be just fine 🙂
My basic green juice recipe (actually, not green at all):
- Handful of power greens such as kale, chard, spinach, etc.</li>
- 2 or 3 – 2 inch cubes of watermelon
- 1 tsp Spirulina powder
- 1 tsp Acai powder-
- 1/2 cup fresh carrot juice
- Goji Berries
- Stevia (optional)
Blend it all and drink!
I buy some of my powders and dried berries from https://www.nuts.com. And when it comes to making changes to your diet, do consult your health caretaker before starting your green juice adventure.
Now use your imagination, add different juices, berries, fruits or spices and enjoy!
